Tips on Writing

Now, I know this post has nothing to do with my blog's theme.  I really apologize for that.  It's been a while since I last visited my blog, and quite frankly I'm not really much of a blogger enthusiast.  Truth be told, I fiddled in different ideas such as remodeling the blog, think of a new theme, or just shut it down altogether.

So while I'm yet to reach a conclusion about what to do with my humble blog, I've decided to come back from hiatus and make my second post

Though still undecided on my blog's fate, I'm decided that I will share some helpful tips in writing. So here it is...

1. Reread and proofread. Once, twice, thrice, or until you're satisfied.

2. It's better to have a fresh set of eyes double check your work.

3. Learn to KISS~ ;) And I meant Keep It Short and Simple silly!

4. Try to put yourself in your readers' shoes (or eyes, whatever works XD). It's given that you understand what you're about to post since you're the one who composed it (doh!). But hey, will your readers understand it, too? Because in case you haven't realized it yet, it's your readers who matter.

5. Choose your words very carefully and wisely. Refer to your handy dandy dictionary if you have to. It may shock you to find a commonly used word you thought you knew all along has a completely different meaning in the dictionary. So whether you're in doubt or not, consult Mr. Webster all the same.

Now, I ain't trying to make myself look like I'm Ms. Grammar Perfect. God knows I'm still miles away from becoming an expert. I'm just trying to be helpful... that or I just wanna avoid reading stuff that could give me a headache. :P

If it also makes you feel any better, I also make grammar boo-boo in posts, texts, e-mails, and whatnot... in fact, I'm crossing my fingers, hoping and praying that this post is error free. But who am I kidding? I can't rid the feeling that I just dug my own sweet grave. Anywho, this is becoming waaaaaay too long for a post.

So forgive me if ironically I made some grammatical mistakes on my lecture that has something to do with Grammar. LOL. So let this be a lesson, we can't avoid making mistakes on our posts from time to time. The moral of the story is... let's just avoid committing grammatical errors like... i dunno... every time...? XD

Kidding aside,
I hope you found my article worthwhile to read just as how I found it worthwhile to write. Before we part ways, I hope to impart you a lesson.  Word is a powerful tool that could either build or destroy a world; make peace or create war; gratify or displease someone; therefore, we should never take it for granted.
